Summer Term Week 1

What a great week back. The children have been fantastic and the weather beautiful. We have been busy exploring number bonds to 10 – making ten in lots of different ways e.g. 1+9, 2+8 and recalling them as quickly as we can.
We listened to a story Spring Rabbit on a tape (some children were curious about what the tape actually was πŸ˜‚)and then talked about our favourite parts and characters before writing a sentence independently. Wow, we are developing into some wonderful writers.πŸ‘
We read Jack and the Beanstalk and then planted our bean seeds so fingers crossed they will grow like Jack’s!

A busy week πŸ‘

We have been busy this week learning and exploring new things. We have started working in our new Freddy Phonic groups and are trying so hard to read and write words independently. In maths we have been busy counting and ordering numbers, we even iced some biscuits and counted out chocolate drops to decorate them with using special numbers we were given.
In PE we had a fantastic time as Mr Hughes put out all the climbing apparatus and showed us how to use each piece safely before we began exploring for ourselves. In music we have been busy putting actions to songs and sharing our ideas. Forest School has been very musical too this week. The children have found their own sticks and have worked in groups to make their own bands and use the forest to create different noises. Have a lovely weekend. πŸ˜€

Our Reflection Area

Thank you to all the parents that were happy to support us by buying their child’s Christmas tree gift. Not only did the children have the opportunity to make and paint their own pots and cones but they also felt very proud to be selling them to their grown ups. With the money raised we have been able to buy a new seat for our reflection area which the children love. The children are enjoying sitting on our new seat to share books and take time to watch the fish. Thanks again.
