Friends

Friends PTA“Friends” is part of the NCPTA (National Confederation or Parent Teacher Association) and is a registered Charity. We are equivalent to the more readily recognised PTA (Parent Teacher Association). The only difference being, as a small community school, a Friends association means we can extend the group of people who can become members from parents/carers and teaching staff, to include anyone over 18 who wishes to help or support our school.

Upcoming Fundraising Events

Our aim is not just to raise funds for the school but to also encourage and develop parent/staff involvement therefore helping support children’s learning at school.

We have many events throughout the year including, our Summer Fair, Christmas Fair, discos for the children, Christmas Shopping Night and Summer Family BBQ. As well as fundraising we provide refreshments at school performances and for new parents when their children start school. We also go into school and help out when necessary with things like putting up Christmas decorations.

Some of the things we regularly part or fully fund are sports and music equipment, any other class equipment to help support teachers, Pantomime Trips and Forest Schools. We have also helped fund new dictionaries in all classes and fluorescent jackets for the cross country club.

We meet on a regular basis and are always looking for new fun ways to raise funds and bring the school, children and parents together. Our AGM (annual general meeting) is held every October which is open to everyone and is a great opportunity to see how money raised has been spent. It is also an opportunity to become part of the school community and to see how the school is run and the issues it tackles in striving to provide the best possible education for all pupils in the school.

If you would like any further details about our committee please contact the school office and a committee member will get back to you.
