It was lovely to see so many of you in church for our Harvest festival and the children performed their song beautifully. We are nearing the end of our work on “The Queen’s Hat” and the children have planned their own stories which they will write next week. In maths, we will be moving on to our second unit of work on addition and subtraction. In science, we have been learning about habitats and exploring microhabitats for different minibeasts. The children worked very hard on their 10 times tables and were excited to do their timed challenge.

The children have all settled down well and have been working really hard. We’ve started our English text ” The Queen’s Hat” and had fun wearing our own hats in the wind! In maths, our first topic is place value, understanding tens and ones and how to partition numbers. The children are remembering to bring in their reading books in for changing, thank you for your support with this.

There is also a log-in for Spelling shed on line in the back of their purple homework books. They could also go on Hit the the Button on the computer for maths work. As part of our history topic, they might like to research Agnes Hunt. A look around the village, in the cooler hours, will give them clues!

There were artefacts to look at, bandages to apply and costumes to try on, they even made dandelion tea! They all had great fun and learned lots more about our most famous nurse, Florence Nightingale. Here are a few photos from the workshop.
