As we welcome our new Reception families, we would like to remind parents that all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM).
This means that every child in these year groups can enjoy a healthy, nutritious school meal at no cost, regardless of family income.
We are aware that some parents may not realise that their child is automatically eligible for free school meals during their first three years of school, so we wanted to highlight this valuable benefit. School meals provide children with a balanced lunch each day and are a great opportunity to try a variety of foods alongside their friends.
If your child has started Reception this September and you would like them to have school meals, there is no charge. Children will order their lunch each morning in class with their teacher.
Please note: Even though all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils receive free meals, families who may qualify for additional support through benefits-related Free School Meals are still encouraged to apply. Doing so can help the school access additional funding to support pupils and may provide access to other benefits.
