You may be aware that Shropshire Council is working with Public Health England following confirmation of 12 cases of covid-19 linked to the Corbet School. The outbreak follows a significant increase in cases in the county which in the week ending 10th June, rose by a significant number in Shropshire.
We are recommending a PCR test for anyone connected to our school with symptoms and this includes symptoms that are not the typical covid-19 symptoms e.g. headache, tummy ache, feeling unwell/tired. Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling in any way unwell.
If your child is displaying any of the main COVID symptoms (a high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss of sense of smell/taste) they must self-isolate for 10 days, or until a negative test result has been received.
The rest of the household must also self-isolate for 10 days, or until a negative test result has been received.
Lateral flow tests are now available to all Shropshire households. Please visit https://shropshire.gov.uk/coronavirus/rapid-testing-in-shropshire/ to see a list of where these can be collected from.
At this time, we would really encourage you to test yourselves regularly to help us identify new cases as quickly as possible. Our staff have increased their testing from twice a week to every day for the time being as we want to make our schools as covid-secure as possible. To help us further, please remember to carefully follow the social distancing laws when you are meeting up with groups of people outside of school.
The Corbet and all the 9 feeder primary schools have been affected by positive covid cases this week, as well as several other schools and hot spots in the county.
We will continue doing everything we can to keep our schools safe and would appreciate your help too so that we can safely get through the last few weeks of term and ensure no bubbles have to be closed.
If you are unsure of any of the rules or guidance, please phone the school admin, as they are experts and have all the up-to-date guidance which they can talk through with you. Thank you.
If you wish to place an order and have not done so already, please hand your class photo orders into the school office by tomorrow, Friday 25th June, at the latest. Thank you.
Just a polite reminder that dogs should not be brought onto school premises at any time. Thank you.
It has been brought to our attention that some pupils are receiving random messages inviting them to join class Zoom links which have not originated from us. Please make your children aware of this and ensure that they know not to click any of these links. School will only ever send zoom links to parents via dojo. Thank you.
