As part of improving our reading in school, we have introduced a different experience for the children to read, discuss and share ideas about books in class. Book Talk is a focused reading session,which has replaced traditional Guided Reading, where we teach children how to be detectives when reading; looking at the styles an author has used as well as analysing content of the text written.
We would like to invite parents to visit a Book Talk session to see at first hand how this new approach works and the positive difference it is making to your child’s reading and comprehension skills. There will be 2 sessions taking place which we hope you can join us for.
Years 4,5,6 – Wednesday 27th March 2.30-3pm in Class 6 with Mrs Kovach
Years 1,2,3 – Wednesday TBC 2.30-3pm in Class 2 with Miss Clough
