Current Year 6 – Free School Transport

Any parents/cares of year 6 pupils, who wish to apply for free school transport for their child/children from September 2019, should do so before Friday 31st May 2019.

Applications can be made online at www.shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone with the Council’s Customer Service Team by calling 0345 6789008. Alternatively, should you require a paper copy of the application form, please do not hesitate to contact the school or Passenger Transport directly via email,schooltransport@shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone on the above telephone number.

It is important to explain that, if the application is not received by 31st May 2019, the Authority may be unable to provide transport for the beginning of the autumn term 2019 and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements.

School sports tops and football kits

Please could all sports kits be returned to school as soon as possible. We are currently missing 6 sports tops (left in picture) and 6 football kits (right in picture). It would be a great help if these were washed before being returned to school.

Residential Letters

The Year 5 Residential letter was sent home with year 5 children yesterday afternoon.  If you did not receive a copy of this letter, please contact the school office.

Letters for the Year 4 Residential and Year 6 Residential will be sent home with children at the beginning of next week.

Shropshire School Games

On Tuesday, 12 pupils travelled to Shrewsbury Sports Village as part of our basketball, hockey and cross country teams. Having already progressed through the Baschurch cluster and North Shropshire competitions, all had done brilliantly to reach this stage.

Basketball

After narrowly losing their first game, our basketball team won their remaining 4 games convincingly and ended up winning the fiercely contested tournament and being crowned SHROPSHIRE CHAMPIONS! Well done to Theo, Mateo, Raluca, Alanna and Lois who were well deserving of their victory.

Cross Country

Fia was our only runner to qualify for the finals and achieved an amazing 3rd place. After the improvement in Fia’s running so far this year, I’m excited to see how she progresses in year 4.

Hockey

Our hockey team had to deal with numerous changes as the basketball was taking place at the same time meaning the team had 3 new members. They finished in 5th place but showed great resilience throughout the morning against more experienced teams. Well done to William, Ajvir, Thomas, Lucy, Chloe and Erin.

This was the first time any of our teams have qualified for the Shropshire Games in at least 4 years so all pupils deserve huge credit for their sporting success so far this year.

Pictures to follow!
