🌸Summer Term🌸

🌸Summer Term🌸
We have had a great first week back.
The children have spent time creating some lovely story maps about their trip to Dudley Zoo and have done a fantastic job of them.
The home school task of creating a garden decoration has seen the children making some absolutely fantastic mobiles, flowers and plant pots. The children are sharing them with the class and talking about how they were created and the materials they used. One beautiful design incorporated a humming bird so we used this opportunity to find out some facts about this amazing little bird. We will be finding a special place in our garden next week to place the creations to enhance our garden area and discourage the pesky pigeons!
Thank you to the parents who have already volunteered to come and talk about their jobs with us, if anybody else would like to join in please send me a message and I will suggest some dates for you to come and visit us.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
😊

🌸Spring Term🌸

This week we have spent time exploring how we celebrate Mother’s Day. We have talked about celebrating love, kindness and care. It maybe our mummy, grandmothers, aunties, stepmoms, carers or other role models who guide us, give us hope and love us everyday.
We had a lovely story about a baby owl and a mummy owl which was shared by our mystery storyteller this Friday. Thank you for visiting us it was a perfect way to end the week.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

🌿Spring Term 2🌿Week 1/2 🌿

We have had a lovely, busy couple of weeks in class!
The first week back the children spent time exploring Chinese New Year.
We learned about Chinese New Year, exploring some traditions and the zodiac animals. The children also practised writing Chinese numbers using mud and sticks in Forest School.
This week in Forest School, the children went on a spring hunt, spotting buds, shoots, and other signs that spring is on the way.
Spring in our forest school and in our own gardens is a lovely way to understand our Christian Value of Hope. When spring comes something wonderful happens as little green shoots push up through the soil just like how God is always at work bringing new life, new beginnings and hope.
Thank you for the fantastic effort with World Book Day costumes. The children looked amazing as their favourite characters and enjoyed sharing their love of stories.
A big thank you to our super grown-ups who came in as mystery storytellers. The children loved guessing who was reading the story before the big reveal!
Wishing you a lovely weekend!

❄️Spring Term ❄️Week 6❄️

We have spent time talking about staying safe using the NSPCC Speak out Stay safe programme. We made our own Buddies to help us remember to always follow his advice and Speak out, Stay safe.
In Maths we used 5 Little Speckled frogs to help us to find different ways of making 5, finding more/less and to begin ways of how to record number sentences and number formation.
Our Mystery Storyteller shared a story about Pirates and school. The children loved the parrot and asked some great questions. Thank you for sharing a story with us! 🦜

🐧❄️Spring Term ❄️🐧Week 5❄️🐧

This week we have enjoyed The Emperor’s Egg by Martin Jenkins. The children enjoyed learning about the lifecycle of a penguin, learning some penguin facts and cutting out 2d shapes to create a penguin.
In maths the children have been measuring using cubes and thinking about measuring and counting carefully.
We had a duo for our mystery storyteller this week and really enjoyed one of our favourite stories, and we also asked some good questions. Thank you for coming to read us a story.
We have enjoyed sharing more of the Winter Wonderland creations. They have been amazing and the children have really enjoyed sharing them.
Happy Weekend

❄️Spring Term❄️ Week 1/2❄️

It has been lovely having our first full week back in school.
In maths this week we have been working on our number sense and different ways to represent numbers. We found our counting skills very useful in Forest School as we counted how many hoops we had as we threaded them onto pipe cleaners to make bird feeders. We currently have two robins who are very interested in them.
In PE we listened carefully to instructions and worked hard on our spatial awareness and to finish off the week we had our first storyteller of the year who read us a super story about dinosaurs and firefighters. We also had the chance to try on a firefighters helmet too! Thank you for coming to visit us.
Have a lovely weekend.

❄️Spring Term❄️ Week 3/4❄️

What a super week full of penguin fun. Thank you so much for all the wonderful costumes and homeschool tasks you have created with the children. The children have loved learning facts about penguins, having a penguin huddle, singing penguin songs, comparing how tall they are with an emperor penguin, talking about their penguin creations and having our mystery storyteller with a penguin story which was perfect, so a big thank you to our storyteller too.
Happy weekend

🎄Park Hall Farm Visit🎄

🎄The children were little stars today. Santa was very impressed and enjoyed chatting with the children finding out what they would like for Christmas and what treats they like to leave for him and the reindeers on Christmas Eve. We had lots of fun exploring the farm too. I’m sure everyone will sleep well tonight.
😊

🎄Week13🎄

Wow, what a fun packed week.
It all began early in week when we got into our Bird Houses and flew to different continents to develop our geographical knowledge, mixing with children from every year group. Followed by Christmas jumper day and the children’s first Baschurch Primary Christmas dinner. Thursday was a great day morning at the Panto to see Dick Whittington which was great fun. Friday was our awards celebration and our lovely Christingle Service in church, it was a lovely service and so nice to see you there to share it with us.
I haven’t forgot our mystery storytellers but I have forgotten the iPad with the photos on so I will pop those photos on tomorrow!
I will pop a post on later about our trip to Park Hall Park.
😊

🎄Week 12🎄

What a brilliant but busy week we have had!
We began the week by looking at Oh, Little Jack and we did lots of activities based on the story which the children enjoyed. Some of the activities linked to our story developed our retelling, counting and cutting skills.
We finished off our rudolf plant pots and thank you to everyone who bought one and came to support the school at the Christmas Fayre, it was a great event.
Whoops-a-Daisy Angel is coming on nicely. We have been on the stage a couple of times so we are all aware of where to stand and we have tried our costumes on. Well done to everyone for trying their best to remember songs, words and when to go on stage.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday for our performance and tickets will come home in book bags on Monday.
More information regarding the Teddy Bears Picnic and Mystery Storyteller slots will be posted soon.
Wishing you a happy weekend.
