We are settling in really nicely and despite the coughs and colds we have had a great week. The children are enjoying our Class Worship time and enjoy bringing different things to the worship table and sharing what we do in this special time.
Freddy the frog has been hanging upside down and hiding our sound cards this week! We are trying so hard with sounding and forming our letters. We got the wallpaper out so we could all practise our letter formation together on the back of it. Please find a pack of sound cards in book bags to practise sounding out at home. If you can leave the cards in book bags we can add to them.
In maths we have been sorting and matching along with daily counting and number rhymes.
We have been trying hard to hold our scissors correctly so we can cut around shapes. This is a great skill to practise at home too.
Hello Yellow Day – it was lovely to see the children dressed in sunny yellow. We read Have You Filled a Bucket Today? before filling our own little buckets with drawings of everything that make us happy such as special people, animals and nature. 💛
Please find Parents Evening Slip in book bags, letters and Sound Sheets. If you are having problems with the system for paying for the trip please send me a message. This does sometimes happen when it is first set up. If you have missed any letters we will pop them in book bags next week.

We started the week with the story Oh Little Jack and took part in activities related to the story such as sequencing , role playing the story in small world, washing trikes and following the track, along with completing a obstacle course wearing bunny ears. We have had fun recognising and forming m and a in Freddy Phonics.
Big Red Combine Harvester is in full swing and the children are looking forward to performing it in church on Monday for you.

Well our first full week has flown. The children are really starting to settle as we get to know each other and as they become familiar with the school routine. The children are coming in independently and are following the morning routine beautifully.
We have played games such as Pass the Pebble and Pirate, Pirate to help us learn names and to develop our listening skills and develop the skill of following instructions. We have looked at a few All About Me bags which the children have enjoyed sharing and their peers have thought carefully about asking a question to find out more.
We look forward to next week and continuing our All About Me topic. Please can you send in a family photo for us to display in class. If your child has a family photo in their All About Me bag that I can use please put a comment below. If you haven’t a photo printed please send me one and I can print it out.

We have had a lovely few days and the children have been amazing. With friends to catch up with, making new friends, learning new routines, exploring a new environment and getting to know us, it really has been a very busy time. Thank you for coming this afternoon it was lovely to see you and we hope you liked your starting school photos. 🙂

🌸Summer Term 🌸

We enjoyed celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday. The children brought a toy animal and found a place in our garden that would be a habitat suitable for their animal.

New Starter Parents Meeting POSTPONED

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the New Parents’ Meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday 20th May 2026 has been postponed. The meeting will now take place on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at 4.00pm. 

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this change may cause and thank you for your understanding. We hope the new date will still allow you to attend and find the session helpful. The meeting will provide important information about starting school and will give you an opportunity to meet staff and ask any questions you may have. 

Should you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. Thank you.

🌸Summer Term🌸

In Forest School we have enjoyed making monster faces out of clay and natural materials linked to our story Where The Wild Things Are. The children were very creative and happily wrote about the monster faces they made.
Our writing using our phonics is progressing well and it is lovely to see how the children are using their sound knowledge and red words to attempt any word they want to write.
Our caterpillars have arrived so we have been observing how much they have grown this week before the next stage begins.
We ended the week with a game of Pirate, Pirate and the draw for the lucky winner of the giant monkey took place.

🌸Summer Term🌸

We have had a busy week and we are really enjoying finding out about the book Where The Wild Things Are. The children created crowns using nature’s treasures in Forest School to become Kings or Queens like the character Max. The children were amazing at becoming Wild Things and Forest School was the perfect setting!
Saint George’s Day kept us busy on Thursday and we have been busy counting larger quantities and starting to count in 2’s.
We look forward to next week and look forward to the warmer weather continuing.
