🌻Week 5🌻

🌻Week 5🌻
We have had a fantastic first week back. It all began with our Hedgehog Workshop which the children really enjoyed and it provided the opportunity to learn more about hedgehogs. We will continue to develop our knowledge of hedgehogs during this term. Our aim is to make our school hedgehog friendly and encourage you to have hedgehog friendly gardens too. Thank you to all the parents who contributed to support the workshop. We even have a Hedgehog House to encourage hedgehogs hibernating later in the year.
A very exciting addition to our garden area has been installed this week. A lovely canopy that is going to allow us to spend more time learning outdoors. The children had the opportunity to see a mini digger and dumper at work which caused great excitement. I will post some pictures next week.
In maths we have been revisiting subitising and counting along with playing Shuffle, Shuffle Group which is a fun game to reinforce what we have been learning.
The Colour Run was great fun and the children who participated had a fun time whilst raising money for our school.I think bubble baths were required after as the children were very colourful! Great fun, thank you to the Friends of Baschurch for organising it.
To complete our week we had our Mystery Storyteller. The children enjoyed listening to the story about Taking Turns, and of course asking a variety of questions after!
Thank you for coming to read to us.
Happy Weekend
😊

Class 2 police visit

Yesterday, class 2 had a visit from the police. They enjoyed finding out about what the police do and answered lots of questions. They were even allowed in the police car! They all had a marvellous time trying on the uniform too!

Chester Zoo Trip

We are so excited about our big day out altogether to the zoo and the children are already talking about which animals they might see. We have been learning about vertebrates and invertebrates this week and practising using keys to identify them based on their characteristics. We have also been looking at habitats and climate around the world.

Please return your child’s permission slip tomorrow if you haven’t already and make payment on the school gateway.

Thank you.

World Book Day 2025 📚

World Book Day this year is Thursday 6th March 2025!

This year our theme at Baschurch is ‘Readers to Writers’ and we would like children to come to school dressed up in their favourite character AND also bring their book in with them. Please don’t feel the need to buy any costumes – many items can be found at home such as pyjamas, superhero’s, princesses, Halloween costumes or nativity costumes to name a few.

More information to follow nearer the time.

Remembrance Day 2024

Every year our class represents the school at the village Remembrance Service at the church.  I could not be more proud of our class this morning. They showed respect and maturity representing the school at the memorial but also on the tour of the Commonwealth War Graves afterwards. The British Legion volunteers took them to place poppies at each one and tell them about the servicemen we are remembering today.  Every child listened so well and were a credit to Baschurch primary. Well done team!
