Florence Nightingale Workshop

Year 2 had a very enjoyable morning participating in  the Florence Nightingale workshop. There were artefacts to look at, bandages to apply and costumes to try on, they even made dandelion tea! They all had great fun and learned lots more about our most famous nurse, Florence Nightingale. Here are a few photos from the workshop.

Year 2 D&T

Year 2 have had a very hectic week. We had a SIAMS inspection on Wednesday and we’ve been finishing our assessments. The children have all worked really hard and tried their best. In RE, they have been learning about the main events of Easter week and they produced some wonderful pictures depicting the different events. In D& T they have all made a chair for a bear using paper and card.

It was lovely talking to you all on parent evenings and I hope you took the opportunity to look at the children’s super work. Have a lovely weekend.

Year 2 March 16th

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and enjoyed Mothering Sunday. Year 2 had fun making their special cards. I hope you all received them and enjoyed reading the beautiful comments that the children had written.

Year 2 March 6th

Year 2 had a marvellous day yesterday celebrating World Book Day. The children came in fantastic costumes and had a lovely day sharing their books and listening to stories. Year 6 joined us in the morning for a book quiz which was great fun and in Celebration Worship everyone showed off their costumes.

In PE, we have started a new dance unit based on the rainforest, which the children are enjoying. Next week, we will be starting our assessments.

Year 2 February 27th

Good afternoon,

I hope you all had a lovely half term. The children have come back to school refreshed and ready for the next half term. We have started our new English text ” Goldilocks and the Three Bears” by Lauren Child. In fact, we think Goldilocks may have been in our classroom eating porridge! New spellings are on the spelling page on the website and on Spelling Shed.

In PE, inspired by the Olympics, the children had a go at curling and boccia. It was great fun and they really enjoyed it.

You should have received a letter about our upcoming trip to Dudley Zoo in March. Please return the slips and pay on line as soon as you can.

We will be starting our new RE unit next week. We will be learning about why Easter matters to Christians.

Grandparents Board Games Afternoon – More Photos!

Here are some more photos from our Grandparents Board Games afternoon last week.  We all had such a great time and really hope our grandparents and family members enjoyed it too!

Good morning,

We are really looking forward to welcoming lots of you to our board games afternoon next Wednesday from 1.45-2.45pm. Please don’t worry if a grandparent can’t attend because the children will be able to join others in their games and play with their friends. Please bring a board game with you if possible.

We’ve had a busy week and the children are all enjoying the new topics. They are very enthusiastic about our English text ” The Journey Home” and learning about dodos and looking after our planet. In maths we’ve started our unit on money and in RE we have been learning about Islam.
