Overview.

At our school we aim to provide opportunities for our pupils to become physically confident in a way supports their fitness and lifestyle. We aim to provide quality PE lessons which inspire our pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport. PE lessons are taught in the hall, on the playground, on the Corbet field and on the village field by the class teacher, but in addition to this, we employ a  PE specialist who will deliver a wide range of sporting activities and clubs throughout the year.

In Key stage 1, pupils develop their fundamental skills such as agility, balance and coordination. They begin to participate in team games and perform dances using simple movements.

In Key stage 2, pupils continue to apply and broaden their range of skills. They develop an understanding of how to improve in different activities and learn to evaluate and recognise their own success. Our pupils visit Oswestry Leisure Centre in KS2. We aim for all children to be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres by the end of year 6.

We offer several after school sports clubs which provide children with the opportunities to improve their skills, or to try new sports.
