At Baschurch school we have our own dedicated kitchens and a great team of kitchen staff who bring us freshly cooked meals each day.
Most children choose to have school meals. There is a choice of both main course and sweet and a vegetarian alternative is always provided.
Packed Lunches
For those who don’t want a school meal, they are welcome to bring packed lunches. The children eat these in the hall with those children having a cooked meal. In good weather, packed lunches may be eaten at the picnic tables outside.
During the lunch break our caring team of supervisors are available to help the children with their meals and to support them in their play activities.
Menu and Payment information can be found on our Lunch Menu & Payment page.

Free School Meals
Generally, parents or carers who don’t work, or who work fewer than 16 hours a week, are eligible to claim free school meals. You can apply online on the Shropshire Council website (the school doesn’t see your financial information).

Universal Free School Meals
Following recent government changes, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal regardless of status. No application is needed. However, we encourage parents who think they may qualify for regular free school meals to submit a free school meal application as it makes a great difference to how the school is supported.
