  5. The School Day

The School Day

Reception and Key Stage 1 (KS1)
8.45am – Gate opens
12.00pm to 1.00pm – Lunchtime
3.00pm – School Ends

Key Stage 2 (KS2)
8.45am – Gate opens
12.15pm to 1.15pm – Lunchtime
3.10pm – School Ends

Arriving at School
The gates open at 8:45 and children (R-Year 5)  will all arrive through the green gates where they will make their way to their classrooms. Year 6 will arrive through their own blue door from Eyton Lane. Both the door and gate will be closed at 9am.

We expect the children to be on time for school. A member of staff is on duty every morning from 8.45am to welcome the children, chat to parents and ensure children don’t go back though the gate. We can only accept responsibility for your children from this time.

At the end of the day the green gate will be open at 3pm where parents can come and wait for the children on the top playground only. The children will be brought to the top playground to meet parents.

For safety reasons, a responsible adult must meet all Reception and Key Stage 1 (KS1) children at the end of the school day. The teacher in charge of the classroom will not send children out until they are sure they will be safe. If there is ever a problem and parents are delayed, please be assured that we will look after your children until you arrive.

Playtimes
All children have a playtime during the morning for 20 minutes. In all but the most inclement weather the children are encouraged to make use of the outside environment and should therefore have a coat available. During the morning break the children are encouraged to have a healthy snack. Reception and KS1 children are provided with a piece of fruit, KS2 children can either bring in a piece of fruit or vegetable. Under 5’s also receive free school milk.
Throughout the day (both during lessons and breaktimes) children are able to access fresh water to drink.
