Our aim is to enable as many of our children as possible to take part in competitive sport. We will achieve this by entering and A and B team in all School Games competitions and enter any all tournaments which are available to us, as well as arranging friendlies with other local schools.

15.09.22. Football (North Shropshire County Cups): We began our sporting year with a triple header of football fixtures against Whittington, with our u11 boys, u11 girls and u9 boys teams all in action.

22.09.22. Football SSCFA NS Semi-Final: Our under 11 boys progressed to the next round of the SSCFA Cup with a brilliant team performance.

27.09.22. School Games – Netball: We took two netball teams over to the Corbet for the first School Games tournament of the year. Our A team won the tournament, qualifying for the North Shropshire finals, with our B team narrowly missing out on a semi-final spot by goals scored.

29.09.22. Football SSCFA NS Small School Final: Another dominant display from our u11 boys saw them win the North Shropshire Area small schools final.

17.10.22. Panathlon Ten Pin Bowling
We had two teams competing in the Panathlon bowling tournament at Hollywood Bowl and they finished and 1st and 5th place.

03.10.22. Girls Football Friendly: Our u11 girls visited Adcote for a friendly fixture.

05.10.22 St George’s Park 10 Year Anniversary Tournament WINNERS: Our girls u11 team were chosen to represent Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation in a special 10 Year Anniversary Tournament at St George’s Park. It was an unbelievable experience for the team, who met England manager Gareth Southgate and The Prince of Wales, Prince William. In addition, they performed amazingly and won the tournament, scoring 21 goals and conceding 0 across their five games.

14.10.22 Football – EFL Cup WINNERS: The EFL Cup is a tournament organised by the Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation. We entered three teams who took part against 13 other teams from the Shrewsbury and Telford area.
Our A team came away victorious, finishing the tournament with an impressive 25 goals scored and 0 conceded. They will now go on to play Orleton Primary who won the Ludlow area competition on Saturday 12th November, where they will play their game before going to watch the Shrewsbury Town V Barnsley match, where they will be special guests on the pitch before the game.


11.10.22. School Games – Tag Rugby: We took 2 teams over to represent us in the second School Games event of the year. Our A team won 6 and drew 1 of their 7 games, finishing in first place with our B team closely behind in third after winning 5 and losing 2.

01.11.22, School Games – Cross Country: We took 41 pupils from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 over to the 3rd School Games event of the year, cross country and what a successful morning we had! There was a boys and girls race for each year group and the top 3 places from each race were added together to find a team winner for each race. Out of the 8 schools participating, our teams finished in the top 3 in all races!

10.11.22. U11 Boys Football Friendlies
A team of year 5 and 6 boys made the short trip to Ruyton for friendly matches against Myddle and Ruyton. It was the team’s first time playing together and we look forward to more friendlies in the near future.
12.11.22. EFL Cup Shropshire Final WINNERS
Baschurch 5-0 Orleton
Our u11 boys team are the EFL Shropshire Champions after their most impressive win of the year so far. The match was 0-0 and evenly poised at half time with both teams missing good chances. Baschurch put in a dominant second half performance in front of a big crowd and came out 5-0 winners. A huge well done to all the team who will now play in a finals tournament against other regional winners at Barnsley FC in the new year.

Still on a high from their big win on Saturday, our u11 boys continued their impressive form with a dominant win over a battling Ellesmere team.

16.11.22. School Games Club: Netball Festival
We welcomed Myddle and Ruyton Primary Schools for a mini netball festival. 29 children (19 from Baschurch) took part in the event which is competed in a great spirit. It was brilliant to see the skills which the children have learnt in PE lessons and our School Games Club being applied competitively. Some of our children were also representing the school for the first time. Well done everyone!
18.11.22. Year 3/4 Football Festival at Shrewsbury Town
18 of our year 3 & 4 boys took part in the football festival at Shrewsbury Town, with many of them representing the school for the first time.

22.11.22. School Games – Basketball Winners
Both of our teams did us extremely proud today as they both won every game, conceding only one basket between them in 10 games on their way to an all Baschurch final. The final was fiercely contested with one basket proving enough for our eventual winning team.

06.12.22. U9 Boys County Cup North Shropshire Semi-Final and U11 Boys John Hatfield Cup North Shropshire Final
Both of our boys teams produced dominant displays and ended up with matching score lines. The u9s progress to the N.Shropshire Final of the County Cup whilst the u11s continue their unbeaten run this year and qualify for the Shropshire semi-finals of the John Hatfield Cup where they’ll play the winner of the South Shropshire, Shrewsbury or Telford region.

17.01.23. School Games – Sportshall Athletics Winners
Both our boys and girls teams got 2023 off to a winning start by winning the Baschurch Area Sportshall Athletics competition at The Corbet. The children took part in a variety of field and track events and performed brilliantly. Both teams will now move on to the North Shropshire finals next month.

26.01.23 ESFA U11 Boys Shropshire Finals
Our under 11 boys team took on St George’s from Shrewsbury and Redhill from Telford in the Shropshire Finals at Telford College. They played two intense, close games, drawing 0-0 with St George’s and losing 1-0 to eventual winners Redhill.

01.02.23 U11 Girls ESFA Cup North Shropshire Final
Whittington 2 – 0 Baschurch
Our girls but up a brave display against a strong Whittington team. After drawing 0-0 at half time, Whittington ran out eventual winners with 2 goals in the second half.
07.02.23 School Games Round 2 – Basketball Winners
Our basketball team are North Shropshire Champions! They won every game on their way to victory and will go on to represent North Shropshire at the Shropshire School Games Finals later this term.

Well done to our Y5 and Y6 teams who finished 4th and 7th out of 12 at the Baschurch Area School Games event today. Both teams demonstrated brilliant effort and team work and represented the school brilliantly.#

08.02.23. U11 Girls – STFC Premier League Primary Stars WINNERS!
After being treated to a stadium tour and meeting some STFC Women’s players, the girls won all 3 of their matches without conceding a goal and have qualified for the West Midlands Regional Finals which will be held at West Bromwich Albion Academy on the 8th March.

10.02.23. Tag Rugby Festival at Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation
Twenty of our year 6s travelled to Shrewsbury Town to take part in a tag rugby festival, where we entered 2 teams.
One of our teams won every game on their way to victory and will now play in the final, which will take place at half time of a Shrewsbury Town game (on the pitch!) in April.

Well done to our boys team who battled through, winning a scrappy game thanks to a late goal from goalkeeper, Koko.
The team will now play the winners from either Shrewsbury, Telford or South Shropshire in the County Semi-finals.

14.02.23. School Games Round 2 – Netball Winners
Our netball team are North Shropshire champions after winning a closely contested tournament this morning. The team won 3 and drew 1 of their games in a round-robin tournament and will now go on to represent North Shropshire in the Shropshire Finals in May.

27.02.23. ESFA County Plate U11 Boys Cup North Shropshire Final
Market Drayton 1 V 1 Baschurch (Market Drayton win 3-2 on penalties)
A very tight game came down to penalties with Market Drayton’s goalkeeper making two very good saves. This game brings an end to our North Shropshire football for our u11 boys this year. They have qualified for the Shropshire Final of the Village School’s Cup and play in the semi-final of the Shropshire Boys Small Schools Trophy on Thursday.

06.03.23 U11 girls netball friendly

Our newly formed girls netball team welcomed Adcote for our first fixture. The match was played in a friendly spirit and it was a great learning experience for the girls and gives them lots to work on at Netball Club with Charlotte from the Shrewsbury Town Foundation! Next week Miss Edwards’ football team will travel to Adcote for a football friendly!
07.03.23 School Games Gymnastics
Well done to our KS2 gymnastics team who came 2nd in the School Games event at The Corbet. All of our team performed a floor and vault routine and represented the school brilliantly.

08.03.23. U11 Girls Premier League Primary Stars West Midlands Finals @ West Bromwich Albion Academy
Our u11 girls team set off to West Brom representing Shrewsbury Town after winning their regional competition last month. The girls were in a group with Wolves, Birmingham City and Walsall and would play each team twice. They went on to qualify in first place in their group, winning 5 games out of 6, scoring 10 goals and conceding 0. In the semi-final we faced Coventry City, needing to win the game to qualify for the next round at Leeds United FC. Unfortunately despite creating the better chances, our team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat. The whole team represented both the school and Shrewsbury Town brilliantly.

15.03.23 Year 3/4 Tag Rugby Festival
Our year 3s and 4s gained some valuable experience by representing the school in a tag rugby festival at Packwood. A special well done to our Y4 team who won all of their games!

28.03.23 School Games Tag Rugby – North Shropshire Finals
A wet and windy morning at Whitchurch Rugby Club saw our tag rugby team reach the semi-finals, narrowly losing an end-to-end game against Whittington 9-8.

Our girls football team finished in second place despite not conceding a goal! They finished the morning with a 3-0 win and two 0-0 draws.
30.03.23 U11 Boys EFL Cup Northern Finals @ Barnsley Academy
We’re going to Wembley! What a day for our u11 boys, supporters and teachers! We topped our group with 3 wins and 2 draws before beating Sheffield Wednesday 6-0 in the semi-final. The final against Derby County ended 0-0 at full time, with the boys finally winning 3-2 on penalties. The boys will now play at Wembley Stadium at half time of the League 1 Play-Off final on Monday 29th May. AMAZING!
