School Dinners

We have held the cost of the school meal at £2.30 for as long as possible, but in light of the rapidly increasing cost of food, electricity and other costs I am reluctantly having to raise the price to £2.50 per day with effect from 5th June 2023. This increase will bring our dinner price in line with what many other schools are already charging for school dinners.

We do ask that you continue to pay weekly, half-termly or termly, in advance via the School Gateway for the meals, whichever of those options suits you best. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to be provided with a government subsidised free school meal every day.

If you think you might qualify for free school meals please visit: https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/free-school-meals/  even if your child is currently in YR, Y1 or Y2, as if you do qualify for income related free school meals, we may then be able to help you financially in other ways. Also, your child would then be eligible to free places available on the HAF  (Holiday Activities and Food) programme for children and young people aged four (reception class age) to 16, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals, further details can be found on the link above.

Thank you for your continued support

Parent Survey Results

Thank you for taking the time to complete our recent questionnaire. It really gave the staff a boost to have such positive feedback. To know that all of the children feel safe and happy at school is so important to us. A summary of the results and your comments are attached and we will take on board any suggestions that you made so that we can continue to improve.

Thank you Mrs Darlow & Year 4 from Hope House

Before the Easter Holidays, Mrs Darlow won the blue hamper in the Rainbow Raffle.  Mrs Darlow, along with year 4, decided to donate this hamper to Hope House.  Last week, we received this lovely message from them –

“Thank you so much for very kindly donating the blue rainbow hamper that you won back to us at Hope House for us to use and raise further funds with. I’m pleased to let you know that we were able to raffle it at a recent supporter event and raised £195! We are really grateful for your support.”

Year 6 – Free School Transport

Any parents/carers of year 6 pupils, who wish to apply for free school transport for their child/children from September 2023, should do so before 31st May 2023. Applications can be made online at https://shropshire.gov.uk/school-transport/ or over the phone with the Council’s Customer Service Team by calling 0345 6789008. Alternatively, should you require a paper copy of the application form, please do not hesitate to contact the school or Passenger Transport directly via email, schooltransport@shropshire.gov.uk or over the phone on the above telephone number. It is important to explain that, if the application is not received by 31st May 2023, the Authority may be unable to provide transport for the beginning of the autumn term and parents/carers will need to make their own transport arrangements. Access to school transport is not permitted until entitlement has been confirmed.
