Languages and Culture Day 25th October

We are very excited to be dedicating next Wednesday 25th October to Languages and Culture. It will follow the same format as our previous science day and maths day – the children will move round a carousel of exciting activities and learning experiences throughout the day.  Each teacher and TA will prepare an experience for the children to take part in. The language we teach here in key stage 2 is Spanish, so this will be featured but we also want to incorporate other languages, countries and cultures. Lots of children at Baschurch have lived in other countries or speak different languages, so if you have anything you would like to share with us, we would really appreciate that. Perhaps you could write down some phrases in another language that your children could share with the class or perhaps you have some artefacts or clothing from another country that your child could share? If you would like to do this, then either pop into the office or send it in with your child on the 25th. If you have any other ideas that you would like to share, then we would love to hear them. Again, call in at the office or send us an email.

Many thanks

Nut Free School

We would like to remind parents/carers that we are a ‘nut free’ school.

In the interests of protecting pupils and staff with nut allergies, we request that you do not send your children to school with any of the following:

  • Packaged nuts
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spreads containing nuts
  • Cereal, granola or chocolate bars containing nuts
  • Cake or biscuits containing nuts
  • Peanut-based sauces like satay
  • Any food made with sesame seeds (which can cause a similar allergic reaction)

The above list is not exhaustive. Please check the ingredient lists carefully.

Both children and adults with severe nut allergies can suffer from life-threatening reactions if they eat, smell, or touch any foods containing nuts. We are therefore grateful for your cooperation in helping to keep our pupils and staff safe.

Shropshire Council Area SEND Partnership Self-Evaluation Framework

PACC has been asked to coproduce the review of the Shropshire Self Evaluation Framework, where the local area is asked to consider the effectiveness of local systems in a range of areas.

PACC has some existing feedback about Parent Carer experience in these areas but we want to understand if this has changed, so we can share the most current feedback.

We would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete a short survey: https://forms.office.com/e/93CyGCKcBEPACC will be attending meetings about this week commencing 23rd Oct so all feedback will be needed by 5pm on the 22nd Oct.

Apologies for the short notice but this was outside of our control. Thank you as always for your support.

Church Road – Parking

We have received a complaint from Baschurch Parish Council about parents parking down Church Road and obstructing driveways.  Please avoid parking in this manner to allow residents to enter and exit their property at ease. Thank you.

Our Christmas Carol Service will be taking place at All Saints’ Church in Baschurch on Monday 18th December at 1.30pm.  Everyone is welcome to join us.

Sickness and Diarrhoea

We have had a small number of sickness and diarrhoea cases in school this week.  Therefore we would just like to remind you that children must remain off school for 48 hours from the last episode of sickness and/or diarrhoea. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.  Thank you.
