Nut Free School

We would like to remind parents/carers that we are a ‘nut free’ school.

In the interests of protecting pupils and staff with nut allergies, we request that you do not send your children to school with any of the following:

  • Packaged nuts
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spreads containing nuts
  • Cereal, granola or chocolate bars containing nuts
  • Cake or biscuits containing nuts
  • Peanut-based sauces like satay
  • Any food made with sesame seeds (which can cause a similar allergic reaction)

The above list is not exhaustive. Please check the ingredient lists carefully.

Both children and adults with severe nut allergies can suffer from life-threatening reactions if they eat, smell, or touch any foods containing nuts. We are therefore grateful for your cooperation in helping to keep our pupils and staff safe.

All Saints’ Church – Wednesday 29th March

All Saints’ Church have advised us that there is a funeral taking place on the afternoon of Wednesday 29th March, with a lot of people due to attend, so suspect there will be lots of cars around the village.  If you are able to walk to school at pick up on this day, please do so. Thank you.

Crane Counselling Charity Concert 🎶🌟

What a pleasure it was taking the children from choir to perform at Shrewsbury Abbey yesterday evening!

It was a delight to take part in such a fabulous concert and the children put 100% into all of their performances. The Abbey can be a very daunting performance space and it was packed full of people so they really did all do an incredible job and I was exceptionally proud of them! 💫

His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire was in attendance and she took the time to come and compliment the children on their performance, along with the Mayor of Shrewsbury. We were also able to watch lots of other talented performances across the evening which was a real treat for the children.

Thank you to everyone who transported their child to the event yesterday evening and for all the support choir receives throughout the year.

We have a few other (smaller) performances in the run up to Easter and look forward to getting out and about more during the Summer Term.

Year 5 Parents Evening – Date Change

Unfortunately, we’ve had to rearrange Year 5’s Parents Evening on Thursday 30th March, as Mr McGrath will now be accompanying the U11 Boys to their Regional Football Final in Barnsley. This final was due to take place last week but was postponed due to the snow and we were only notified of the new date yesterday.

Therefore, the Year 5 Parents’ Evenings will now be taking place on Tuesday 28th March & Wednesday 29th March.  If you have any problems, please contact Mr McGrath or the school office.  Thank you and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Friends Rainbow Raffle 🌈

Friends are holding an Easter ‘Rainbow Raffle’ to raise money for Friends of Baschurch Primary School.

Each class has been assigned a specific colour and the idea is that children (where possible) donate a small item of that colour for their class hamper –

YR – Red

Y1 – Orange

Y2 – Yellow

Y3  – Green

Y4 – Blue

Y5 – Purple

Y6 – Pink

The class with the most donations at the end will win a pot of gold (chocolate!)

One of our lovely parents has once again donated a giant Easter Egg – which I know lots of you have already seen in the school office!  This will be 1st Prize in the Raffle and all other prizes will be hampers.

In the school office there is also a rainbow coloured hamper box which will be donated to All Saints’ Church’s food bank.  Donations for this hamper can be any colour.

Please bring all donations into school by Friday 24th March. The raffle will be drawn on Monday 27th March.
