In RE this week, the children in Reception explored the idea of belonging. They talked about the groups they belong to, such as their family, school and clubs, and how being part of a group can make us feel safe and valued. We looked at why groups use symbols and logos, including those used by people from different religions to show belonging. The children learned about religious symbols such as the cross and where they might be seen. They then used play-doh, peg boards and drawings to create their own versions of these symbols, helping them remember what each one represents.
