Wednesday 6th May – VE Day Themed work

Wednesday 6th May – Celebrating in Style

Before Lockdown, there had been so many celebrations, parties and events to mark this special day – including a street party at school. Unfortunately these can no longer go ahead so the BBC, charities and the British Legion  are keen that we still hold our own remembrance. How could you  mark this special occasion at home?

1) Make Great British Bunting

The BBC have launched an initiative to get everyone making bunting to display in their windows, by houses, on gates to remember the great men and women of WW2.

Attached are the instructions, templates etc. I know some of you make your own fabric bunting which would be amazing but you could get the whole family designing bunting on paper, cardboard etc

2) Teach the Lindy Hop

I know how amazing you all were when you were taught this dance by Mrs Hillidge. A favourite from WW2, why not teach the family so you could all have a go on Friday?

I have included below the English Heritage pack – they are asking for everyone to be dancing at 5pm on Friday – please see their website for more information for those of you who enjoy dancing ( was thinking of those who danced in the Quarry last year – Sophie and friends!)
