We have been taking part in the Shropshire picture book award as part of Bookfest this year. It has been lots of fun and the children have been reading so many different picture books, alongside completing different reading and writing activities.
We also took part in an art competition where the children had to illustrate a section from one of the picture books.
The prize (awarded to Lily) was the child’s art work framed, a beautiful art set and certificate which was delivered by one of the judges yesterday 🌟.
It’s been lovely to see all the children in Year 2 so engaged with their reading and excited to be taking part.
Our class favourite was a book called ‘Dogs in Disguise’ by Peter Bently 📖
